But the clock was gaining or losing time too much, and adjusting the pendulum was a headache. I thought there had to be some way to adjust the pendulum automatically. I first thought about moving the pendulum bob up and down but it was not easy. Next I tried to use magnetic force and it worked well. I am working on adjusting other types of mechanical clocks such as torsion pendulum clocks, foliot clocks, balance-wheel clocks, etc. With regard to the balancing robots, algorithm is based on control theory, but in the real world it requires a lot of cut-and-tries.
